Adult education program receives awards

WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- The Lexington Two and Four Adult Education Program recently received honors from the SC Department of Education’s Office of Adult Education.

 

The recognition included:

  • High School Equivalency Diploma Award: Presented to programs with the highest number of high school equivalency diplomas awarded by program size. Lexington Two and Lexington Four awarded 240 GED during the 2017-18 school year.
  • State Goal Post-Testing Percentage Award: This award is given to the programs that met or exceed the State Post-Testing Goal (60% or more of students) Lexington Two and Lexington Four exceeded the 60% by advancing 69% of the students.
  • Facility Enhancement Award: Presented to the Superintendent and Board Chairman who have prioritized the adult education environment through development or renovation of a building or substantial upgrades to their existing adult education facility.  The program is housed in the Lexington Two Community Education Center.
A special presentation was made during the March 21 meeting of the Lexington Two Board of Trustees
