Required vaccinations for 2021-22 school year

WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- The SC Department of Health and Environmental Control has updated its list of required immunizations for the 2021-22 school year. 

Students enrolled in grades 5K-12 in both public and private schools must be up-to-date on the following shots based on their grade level:

  • Hepatitis A (5K)
  • Hepatitis B
  • DTaP (tetanus, whooping cough)
  • Polio
  • MMR (measles, mumps, rubella)
  • Varicella (chickenpox)
  • Tdap (whooping cough booster required before seventh grade)

Don’t wait until the end of summer to get your child’s vaccinations! Contact your health care provider or get vaccines through the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control health departments by calling (855) 472-3432 for an appointment.

 
The first day of classes for the new school year is Monday, August 16.
