Christy Henderson » Director of Adult Education

Director of Adult Education

It is with great pleasure that I serve Lexington School District Two as Director of Adult Education. I began my career in the district in 1995 as a teacher at Fulmer Middle School, then as the TARGET teacher for 4 years.  Then I moved into the role of stay at home mom and the evening coordinator of adult education.   I became director of adult education in 2010.

During my 19 years of experience working with adults, I have grown to appreciate the persistence of every adult learner who walks through our doorway.  Everyone has a different story and comes to us through different pathways; all with one goal in mind.  That goal is to better themselves which in turn improves their quality of life as well as their families and ultimately our community.

Whether it is teaching English to a new comer or assisting a grandmother in obtaining her GED for a better job, we take every student as they are and guide them into achieving their goals.

If I can be of assistance to you in any way, please don’t hesitate to contact me at (803) 739-4048

Sincerely,

Christy M. Henderson, M.Ed.
