Q1. What are the PowerTeacher App Settings?
A1. The District Code: HBDX. Please select your school before adding your login name and password. Remember, logins and passwords are cAsE sEnSiTiVe when using the PowerTeacher App
 
Q2. I need Microsoft Office on my personal computer/laptop.
A2. We can not install District Software on personal devices
 
Q3. I want to show an "educational" Netflix program/movie in my classroom and it is blocked.
A3. From the Netflix "Terms of Use" (paraphrased): The Netflix service and any content viewed through our service are for your PERSONAL and non-commercial use ONLY. You agree not to use the service for public performances.
 
Q4. I get blocked from sites, why? I used to be able to get to "example.com" but now it is blocked, why?
A4. We are required by law to provide content filtering. Therefore, to meet the requirement, we subscribe to a service called "iBoss".
Sites are categorized/classified by content and certain categories are blocked. When a website is reclassified by iBoss, the website could fall into one of the blocked site categories. Teachers/staff have access to more sites than students. Since new sites are continually coming online, no content filtering service is 100% effective at blocking "unwanted" content. Teachers & staff still need to monitor the students.
