Veterans Day Parade Cancelled due to rain

Patriots On Parade Update:
Wood Elementary School is so appreciative of the service and sacrifice of our military Veterans and their families. Due to forecasted heavy rain on Friday, November 11th, we will need to cancel the Veterans Day Parade. Our students have created amazing banners to support our military Veterans, and we will be sharing these on Facebook, Class Dojo, and they will be displayed in the school foyer.

Students are invited to dress in red, white and blue attire, dress like a
soldier, scout uniform, camouflage, or parent’s old military uniforms. Family
members who served or who are currently serving in the military are also
invited to march in the parade. Please find your student and march in the
parade with them. The parade will begin at 12:45 and will travel out of the
school into the front parking area. Parents are invited to come, watch, and
cheer on the parade! Please park along the road that loops around the
building. The front parking lot will be closed for the event. Please
remember guests are not allowed in the building at this time. If you would
like to sign your child out after the parade, please visit the “Sign Out Table”
located at the front breezeway and our office staff will assist you. We
welcome you to join in to help us celebrate our Veterans!

IMPORTANT: Students may not bring anything that resembles a weapon. No toy guns, bullets,

swords, etc.

Students may create a poster to honor their veteran! Be creative and use
any tool necessary...If you have pictures of the person, include them. Write
their name and tell us their relationship to the student. The student can
carry their poster with them as they walk in the parade.
