Lexington 2 History
Bridgett Wolfe is entering her 6th year as a part of the Lexington 2 Family. She spent her first 5 years at Airport High School in the Career and Technology Education (CATE) department. She taught Integrated Business Applications, Information Technology Foundations, and Computer Programming. She served as the advisor for the National Technical Honor Society and as the Student Government advisor for the Class of 2017. She designed the graduation program for the classes of 2016, 2017, and 2018. While she will miss being in the classroom she is very excited to begin this year as an Instructional Technology Coach for the district. 
 
Other Work History
Before beginning her journey as a CATE instructor, Bridgett began her career as a Special Education Teacher. Her first position was at Brewington Academy, the alternative school for Sumter 2. She then moved to Dent Middle School in Richland 2 where she served as the 8th grade ELA resource teacher for 2 years. She also currently works as a facilitator for Code.org and works with teachers across the country on implementing the Code.org Computer Science Discoveries curriculum because she has a firm belief that all children should be exposed to Computer Science and all teachers can learn to teach within this realm. 
 
Professional Membership
Bridgett currently serves as the Vice President for the South Carolina Business Education Association and is a member of the National Business Education Association, Computer Science Teachers Association, the International Society for Technology in Education, and the Palmetto State Teacher's Association. She has presented at the 2017 and 2018 SCBEA annual conferences and presented this summer at the Education Business Summit. 
 
Education Background
Bridgett attended high school at Lexington High School where she graduated in the top 10% of her class. She then attended the University of South Carolina (the REAL USC) where she graduation magna cum laude with her Bachelor of Science in Business and Technology Education. She continued her education at USC and earned her Master's of Education in Special Education with an emphasis in Learning Disabilities. In May 2018, she graduated with her Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from USC.
 
Other Honors
During the 2016-2017 school year, Bridgett was selected to serve on the National Advisory Council for the PRAXIS exam in Computer Science. She also won the Dorothy B. Caskey Award at Airport High School in 2017. During the 2017-2018 school year, she was selected to serve on the committee that worked on the 9-12 Computer Science standards for the state of South Carolina. She also won a scholarship from the Palmetto State Teacher's Association to continue her education/professional development in April 2017.
