Bus driver pay increased to $17 an hour

WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- Job candidates who apply to become school bus drivers in Lexington Two will receive credit for their years of experience in previous commercial driving positions and in the military, effectively boosting their starting pay with the district.

 

Meanwhile, the board has approved an increased starting salary, to $17 an hour, for district bus drivers in the 2022-2023 school year.

 

Among other benefits of working as a school bus driver in Lexington Two:

  • The same days off as your children and grandchildren in Lexington Two

  • Step pay increases for each additional year of service with the district

 

Lexington Two includes the communities of Cayce, West Columbia, Springdale, South Congaree, and Pine Ridge. The district is hiring for the coming 2022-2023 school year, with the first day of school set for Monday, August 15.
