Community & Culture Coalition gets look at the future

WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- Church, business and community leaders, along with parents and district officials, spent the morning Wednesday learning about the future.

That future includes two new schools opening this fall, part of a $225 million measure approved by voters in 2014. In addition to three new schools, every other school in the district will receive upgrades.

Wednesday's meeting of Lexington Two's Community & Culture Coalition featured an update on construction projects district-wide, including a closer look at the new Riverbank Elementary and Lexington 2 Innovation Center. The group, which meets regularly, also discussed programs at the new Innovation Center, as well as the upcoming AdvancED visit this spring.

One of the goals of the Community & Culture Coalition is to strengthen relationships between the district and community.
