eLearning for the Home
Valuing instructional time, eLearning allows Lexington School District Two to extend learning into the home and keep everyone safe due to circumstances resulting in building closure. The goal is to keep students learning in these situations. See the flyers below for more helpful information.
The SC Department of Education has revised eLearning requirements for the 2025-2026 school year. Please see the letter sent to families at the beginning of the school year regarding these changes, posted below.

Re: Changes to eLearning Days
The SC Department of Education has introduced new requirements and expectations for students during eLearning days, effective with the 2025-2026 school year. Based on a review process, the state Department of Education authorizes approved districts to use up to five eLearning days during a school year to allow for the makeup of short-term disruptions to in-person learning due to unforeseen circumstances, such as inclement weather. eLearning days are an option for a district to use on the actual missed day of instruction, or to make up for a previously missed instructional day during a district closure.
This year, the biggest change to the Department of Education's requirements is that students will have roughly a full day of live virtual instructional time with their teachers on an eLearning day, rather than students working primarily on their own.
Direct links to Google Meets or codes to join a live session with a teacher will be posted ahead of the scheduled eLearning day to your child’s Class Dojo or Google Classroom.
NEW SCHEDULE FOR AN eLEARNING DAY
Elementary Schedule:
- 9:00 a.m - 10:30 a.m. AND 12:30 p.m.- 2:00 p.m. - Virtual instruction during these periods will be provided by classroom teachers, with a requirement of at least 30 minutes of reading, instructional videos, or listening activities built in.
- 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. AND 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. - Related arts classes will be offered virtually with a teacher, and students can choose which to join for an activity.
- Teachers will focus on ELA and math on eLearning days.
Middle and High School Schedule:
- eLearning days will operate on a normal bell schedule. Students should log in for all classes, including electives.
- When not directly providing virtual instruction and interacting with students, teachers will be accessible through other lines of communication (e-mail, Class Dojo, etc.). This will be shared with students at the start of the class.
ATTENDANCE POLICY ON eLEARNING DAYS
Students in kindergarten through 12th grade will have attendance taken for eLearning days. Students who are not present on live Google Meets in 5K-12th grade will receive an unexcused absence for missing class until work is completed and submitted. Students need to be actively participating in class on Google Meet for the duration of the block to be counted as present.
ACCESSING CONTENT FOR eLEARNING CLASSES
Teachers will have eLessons for students loaded in Google Classroom or Seesaw. When possible, prior to leaving the school building before a scheduled eLearning day, students will receive any additional resources needed to complete their work at home.
If students do not have the Internet at home, they can still complete the eLesson(s), and upload/sync their work when they return to school.
